Nvidia, a company everyone knows as the brand that makes graphics cards. What some people might not know about them, is their event called GPU Technology Conference or GTC that is happening right now in San Jose, Silicon Valley. The event is not limited to talking about and releasing new graphics cards; although they do discuss them and that’s what this article is about! But in addition, GTC is about new trends in AI and Deep Learning. Workshops, training, opportunities to talk to experts, the whole lot! It is expected that NVIDIA will unveil their new generation of graphics cards at this event. Some information about them has reached us which we are going to share with you.
NVIDIA’s new Graphics Cards Series: GTX 11 Series
In an event that big, the presence of influential personnel from the company is quite common. And what they talk about, gets passed from one to another and ultimately it hits the internet where the news explodes all over the world. Something similar happened at this year’s GTC less than 24 hours ago. A certain person talked to some Nvidia officials who confirmed the new series naming convention for their graphics cards.
Following the previous series Nvidia had, it was assumed that after 300,400,….1000 series, the next series of GPUs would be named as 2000. But according to the sources, Nvidia has confirmed that their new GPUs will not be 20 series. Instead, they have decided that the new GPUs will be GTX 11 Series. So we might see GPUs named GTX 1175 or GTX 1185 instead of the widely rumored 2070 or 2080. We are expecting to hear more news and more specific details about this very soon, since the keynote address by Jen-Hsun Huang, who is the CEO of the company is due on 27th March. Information on pricing, specifications and release dates for these new NVIDIA graphics cards will soon be available.
