The name of the DC Comics supervillain Captain Boomerang may not be so famous, and may sound pretty silly as well, and yes audience may also laugh at his name, but they won’t be laughing when they see him wrecking Starling City apart. The reports not only speculate about the character but also who will be playing it. He is no one else other than Nick Tarabay.
Nick Tarabay best known for his role on the Starz series Spartacus, has become the latest comic addition to the next season of Arrow. Nick Tarabay will be playing Digger Harkness a.k.a. Captain Boomerang. In the source material the villain is known for being extremely dangerous and lethal with a set of specialized boomerangs that he can throw with near herculean precision.
According to other sources, he will be adapted as a “former A.R.G.U.S operative, highly skilled in martial arts and espionage, with a deadly thirst for vengeance against his former employers”.
In Spartacus, Nick Tarabay played Ashur, one of the gladiators in Batiatus’ Ludus. On the morality scale, he dwelled somewhere between good and evil. He was not entirely good, nor evil. He was best at adapting with the conditions of the game, and he did that perfectly. Ashur was cunning and resourceful, and kept audiences guessing right to the bitter end. I can imagine that Spartacus fans waiting for having a glimpse of Nick Tarabay as Captain Boomerang.
Interestingly, Nick Tarabay is now the fourth Spartacus actor to find a role in the world of Arrow. Katrina Law – Mira – Play Nyssa al Ghul in two episodes of the last season, and Cynthia Addai-Robbinson a.k.a. Naevia has a recurring role as Amanda Waller, the head of A.R.G.U.S. But the biggest connection of them all is that of Manu Bennet, who starred as Crixus on 33 episodes of Spartacus and as Slade Wilson – Deathstroke – in 33 episodes of Arrow.
The third season of Arrow will be starting up on Wednesday, October 8th.
