Our wait is finally over! The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are finally here, along with the iPhone X! Apple’s new smartphone line up has been launched today, at an event held at the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, California at 10.A.M PDT.
The past year has given us a vast amount of rumors, leaks and announcements about these phone. Even with all the rumors and leaks, Apple has still managed to surprise us, living up to the expectations. Almost all of us know all the features that the both these phones were speculated to have. But, here are the real features that these brand new Apple smartphones are equipped with:
iPhone 8 Specs
Here are some of the key specs of the iPhone 8:

- 12 MP rear camera, with faster autofocus.
- iOS 11 out of the box.
- 64/256 GB built-in memory, without a microSD card slot.

iPhone 8 Plus Specs
Here are some of the key specs of the iPhone 8 Plus:
- 5.5 inch retina HD display.
- Dual 12 MP rear cameras, with f/1.8 and f/2.8.
- iOS 11 out of the box.
- 64/256 GB built-in memory, without a microSD card slot.
- 3G/4G compatible.
- A11 bionic chip processor
In addition to these features, the both phones are made of glass, and have aerospace grade aluminium and 7 layer color processor. The glass design is reinforced by steel and is the most durable in a smartphone ever. 3D touch is integrated into the screen.
The screen also has color accuracy and stereo speakers. The speakers happen to be 25% louder than those on the iPhone 7, and also have a deeper bass. Both the phones run on A11 bionic chip, equipped with a six-core CPU. This chip is 70% faster than the A10 chip and is designed for 3D games, as well as metal 2. The cameras on the phones have faster auto focus in low light, hardware multiband noise reduction, deeper pixels, etc.
The iPhone 8 Plus is going to be a treat for all the photographers out there as it has a new mode called “Portrait Lighting”. This mode creates a depth map and uses machine learning to change the lighting while you are taking the shot. In addition to that, the new iPhone has the highest quality video capture, along with Apple designed video encoder, and faster video frame rates. These both iPhones will be able to record at 4K 60 fps and 1080 240 fps along with video stabilization and some low light enhancements.
The hardware and software are both deeply integrated for augmented reality. These smartphones will be equipped with bluetooth 5.0. They also support Qi wireless charging. Apple plans on making the wireless chargers available in cafes, airports, etc.
iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus Price
The iPhone 8 as well as the iPhone 8 Plus will be available for pre-order on the 15th of September and for purchase on the 22nd of September. The iPhone 8 is priced at $699, while the iPhone 8 Plus costs $799.
Both the phone are available in two storage capacities- 64 and 256 GB, and three color variants- Silver, Space Grey and Gold.
