Guide to fix ‘Activation Required’ error on iOS 7

Twenty days back, Apple released iOS 7 along with the release of iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C. The release was a great hit from Apple. More than 200 million users upgraded to iOS 7 at the opening weekend of iOS 7 release. This number will definitely be in billions until now.

The users whom upgraded to iOS 7 have started experiencing ‘Activation required’ error on their iOS devices. Most probably, the error is due to the reason that you have already installed iOS 7 Beta 6 which has expired two days back i.e. 6th Oct.

Guide to Fix ACTIVATION REQUIRED error on iOS 7:

Here is the guide to fix this error. You need to upgrade your iOS to latest firmware available i.e. iOS 7.0.2.

Before upgrading, make sure that:

  • You have downloaded the latest version of iTunes(For PC, For MAC)
  • You have back up your device

Follow these steps to fix ‘Activation Required’ error on iOS 7:

Step 1: Connect your device with computer via USB cable

Step 2: Run iTunes

Step 3: Now, click on left side of the screen

Step 4: Download the correct iOS 7.0.2 IPSW files for your device

Step 5: If you are having PC, hold down the SHIFT key and click UPDATE button. For Apple, hold down the OPTION key and click UPDATE button

Step 6: Select the downloaded file and click OPEN

Step 7: Your device will be automatically updated to the latest firmware iOS 7.0.2.

Step 8: You may need to restore to the latest back up.
