For a month now, Apple has been working on iOS 7.1.2 update. The update was first leaked in the web logs of MacRumors. Previously, Apple rolled out iOS 7.1.1 about two months back. The update brought maintenance fixes.
Getting in to the details of iOS 7.1.2 update, the update will hopefully fix number of issues. The update will solve the email attachment encryption issue and email-downloading bug. The sources also claims a fix for the lock screen vulnerability. The vulnerability allowed access to some limited apps. Going ahead, there will likely be a solution for ‘missed call’ lock screen bug. This is not all, iOS 7.1.2 update will enhance iBeacon connectivity, also fixing the bug related to data transfer with third party accessories.
The above list is a confirmed one. Hopefully, along with these fixes, the popular iMessage issue will also get a fix. Apple has already promised the fix in future software update. Surely, this is the one!
Apple has already begun seeding the iOS 7.1.2 update to carrier partners. The update is given the build number ‘11D257’. The company has asked the partners to sign the update by 27th June. So, the public release will be coming in a week or two.
This definitely be the last update before Apple starts rolling out iOS 8 officially this Fall. However, this can also not be confirmed at the moment. As per all iOS 7.1 updates, JAILBREAKERS also should remain away from this update!
