Apple has mesmerized all of us at WWDC 2014. The real, radical announcements has put the competitors on thoughts, what to do next! Apple’s smart home i.e. Home Kit is something we were dreaming off. But well, it’s true now. With iPhone running on iOS 8, you can control your lights, cameras and doors. Thus, taking your accessibility to the next level. Just one touch on your device and bulb goes off. No need to get off the bed to close the doors. Just a tap and you are done! This is what Apple’s Home Kit promises. This announcement has opened up opportunities for the electronics developers. Philips has just shown off its Hue Smart Bulb widget concept!
Just a tap and you are done!
The concept shows how the Hue Smart Bulb widget will be displayed on iOS 8 Notification Center. You will be able to turn on or off and change the color of the bulb, straight from the Notification Center. This does not even require you to run any app or unlock your screen. Have a look on the concept image of the widget running on an iPhone,
As you can see, there are options to change the preset of Hue Smart Bulb. Or, you can turn it off completely.
This concept is definitely going to enchant the people. It is just the beginning! Philips is also considering to use the Home Kit API in its other electronics. Other companies have also laid their focus on the development of such electronics. It’s not sure yet when the Hue Smart Bulb or other such electronics will debut. But well, it is certainly the matter of months ONLY. Apple may give Philips some favor in terms of API and other matters, as both have already worked together. Philips Hue bulbs were exclusively launched at Apple Retail stores in the past.
Apple iOS 8 is expected to come in September. This gives enough time to the companies regarding development of such smart electronics. At this moment, we can hope to see more such concepts coming soon!
I am anxiously waiting to see the concept turning in Reality. Are you?
