The beautiful Twitter client i.e. Tweetbot for iPhone and iPad has undergone a major critical update today. Both the iPhone and iPad versions of Tweetbot app have received this update. The update has brought the iPhone app to v3.3.2 and the iPad one to v2.8.8.
You need to get your current Tweetbot app updated to keep it in working condition. Or, you can download the latest Tweetbot app from iTunes ( iPhone | iPad ). This is because of the change in Twitter API. Few weeks back, Twitter contacted the app developers regarding the matter. To have better understanding of the situation, have a look on the official words from Tweetbot app developers i.e. Tapbots,
A couple weeks ago Twitter’s Platform Operations group contacted us and asked us to make a small change to the way Tweetbot communicates with the Twitter API. This change will have no affect on the way Tweetbot works, however two things will occur once this change goes live. All versions of Tweetbot prior to 2.8.8 or 3.2.2 will stop working and you may need to log into your account again. So make sure you are running the latest versions of the app and be prepared to authenticate your account once more. We will be coordinating with Twitter to make the final change on May 29th at 10 A.M. PST. Stay up to date via our @tweetbot account. Thanks for your continued support!
This is not the first time, Twitter has asked its third party partners to undergo such changes. Twitter always has the tradition of maintaining hard and fast rules as far as its API interaction is concerned.
You definitely want to continue using the beautiful Twitter client i.e. Tweetbot app. So immediately, get it updated or get the new one (links above).
