At WWDC, Apple announced OS X Yosemite. OS X Yosemite comes with hell of new features and enhancements. You can read about them here. Same day, Apple also put forward its OS X Yosemite Beta program for developers. The beta program for developers have received four updates during the period. The latest being, OS X Yosemite Preview 4 was released just couple of days back.
As the developers are in test regarding the beta version, Apple now wants its public users to have an experience of its latest OS. OS X Yosemite Beta public program is now available. The users will able to have their feedback regarding the new OS through built-in Feedback Assistant application.
So, how to get OS X Yosemite Beta? Well, all you need is to login at official Apple beta site. Sign up via their Apple ID. Get the redemption code and download the public beta through it.
As per official details, some new features will not work on OS X Yosemite Public beta. This includes phone calls, Handoff, Instant Hotspot and iCloud Drive. You may find some apps not working with OS X Yosemite beta. Moreover, if you are running iOS 8 beta, you will still not be able to connect both beta versions.
Also, Apple will be providing updates to public beta too. However, the frequency of these updates will be less than that of developer version. Apple is all set to release OS X Yosemite in October, while iOS 8 will release a month back i.e. September. When released, the public beta users can simply update to the final build.
