This year at WWDC, Apple has made a point. Apple has declared that this company knows how to survive. And why do I say this? Well because of the Apple HomeKit that was announced at the WWDC along with other new things.
Those of you who still don’t know what the HomeKit do, its lucky you are here. The HomeKit is not a piece of hardware that is located in the devices themselves. But it is an API that allows the programmer to implement the API in different Home Appliances. The HomeKit enables the user to use the facilities such as turning the light on and off right from your iPhone or iPad.
Honeywell, a launch partner for Apple’s HomeKit, is today announcing its new Lyric smart thermostat to compete against similar products. Such as from the competing company Nest. Just as mentioned the capabilities of HomeKit, you can change the climate remotely from your phone. This will remove the boundaries of interacting with the display. It will also adjust your thermostat to put the right temperature. And it will also learn from your schedule. By which it will even save you money and will also be more efficient.
The Honeywell also speaks of being different from its competitor. Honeywell says its Lyric thermostat include a Fine Tune feature. The feature can intelligently adjust the temperature based on “indoor and outdoor temperature, humidity and weather”. This is a part of its algorithm, something it says others do not do.
The pricing for the Honeywell Lyric thermostat is also set. The thermostat will be available at retail pricing in August 2014, at a price of $279.
There is also this thing that if you want to the Lyric thermostat beforehand, you can purchase it through heating and cooling contractors. The full details of the contractors can be found on their website.
