Apple is getting in the race of Health now. After Samsung Health services that were provided by Samsung Galaxy S5 and than Microsoft SmartWatch that assured to provide Health services. Now Apple Provides health apps services too. Stepping into the health industry with iOS 8 by introducing a new app called as “Health”. Health apps could be an important app to the iPhone users where they can store and monitor important fitness and health related metrics.
Craig Federighi explains it as a great improvement over the current situation. People need to keep up with their health activities by replacing doctors with these Health apps, by this an individual can keep his health noticed and traced. And of course, Apple also introduced Healthkit for Developers.
Detailed were told on how Apple’s working with developers like Nike to build on the HealthKit platform, and it’s also working with the Mayo Clinic and other healthcare facilities to implement HealthKit’s technology into their own apps. May Clinic’s CEO says “We believe Apple’s HealthKit will revolutionize how the health industry interacts with people. We are proud to be at the forefront of this innovative technology with the Mayo Clinic app.”
Health assuredly works with Apple’s M7 chip, which was first introduced in iPhone 5S, which tracks motion statistics and enables collection of much of the metrics HealthKit. To that end, it’s not clear how well Health will work with older iPhone models with on-board data collection. Regardless, Health and HealthKit sounds like iWatch that is long rumoured.
