While you can currently enjoy the 3 Bioshock games in the Bioshock Collection available for the PS4 and Xbox One, it seems Take-Two is looking to bring the Bioshock Trilogy to individual games in the store, normally the process would be the other way around but it seems that the company has accepted a new approach to remarketing their older games.
Bioshock Trilogy – Would You Kindly Triple Dip?
As of right now, the Bioshock series exists on the PS3, Xbox 360, PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The only platform missing is the mobile (nevermind) and the Nintendo Switch port. In the meanwhile, You can still access the original games and the remastered games on their original platforms. Albeit the Bioshock Collection got its fair share of criticism from consumers for performance issues, Take-Two is now looking to sell each game individually.
What is surprising is that this process is normally reversed. With the Ezio Collection as an example. Only after the games have been sold individually on a platform for a set time, does the publisher release a compilation. What the company is thinking with selling the games separately is a bizarre mystery.
The listing appeared on PEGI. The rating board for the UK and the EU.
Release Date and Availability?
You can see the ratings exist for Bioshock Remastered, Bioshock 2 Remastered and Bioshock Infinite: The Complete Edition which contains the Burial at Sea Episodes. While we don’t have a release date for the games, it is not yet known. We are also in the dark about a price and purpose of the release if any.
Hopefully, the intention of selling the games separately is solely due to fixing the problems in the Bioshock Collection, or for fans who missed a particular game in the previous generation while playing one or the other prior.
For now, all we can do is wait for further development on the game. A new entry to the series is definitely not possible due to the dissolution of Irrational Games and considering the time that has passed since Bioshock Infinite combined with the absolute nightmare development of Infinite in itself, we might as well close the book on Bioshock for at least another console generation.
