When we go back to the era of 64-bit graphics, of the PS1 and Nintendo 64 days, Playtonic games is introducing a free update that will give the players Yooka-Laylee 64-Bit Mode for free. This is a throwback to the classic look of video games and you are definitely going to be very nostalgic or nauseous as you get enveloped in the game mode. Either way, you could be in for a fun time.
Yooka-Laylee is a homage to the Nintendo 64 classic Banjo-Kazooie, coming from the creator of the series, it has a lot of the elements of the game it sought inspiration from but managed to have a mixed reception with critics and fans.
Yooka-Laylee 64-Bit Mode – Retro Reborn
The trailer shows us that the whole game could be playable in 64-Bit and the update will roll out for the Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and the PC
You can see that the trailer image alone is a reference to the classic art box that the Nintendo 64 followed, so it comes as no surprise that they are really paying homage to their roots through the trailer.
While the details on the full 64-bit mode are sparse, it is not confirmed yet whether the whole game can be played in this mode or only past a certain point. Rest assured that as soon as we do get more information, we will keep you updated.
