Remember Yakuza back in the days of PS2? Well, apparently the popular Yakuza franchise seems to be coming back to PS4 as a remastered game. What’s even better is that not any one part of the franchise but the whole Yakuza trilogy remaster for PS4 is going to hit the markets pretty soon.
The very first Yakuza game was released back in 2005 on the Sony PS2. The game was developed by Sega. Players got to play as Kazuma Kiryu, who is a former member of the notorious Yakuza gang in Japan. Kazuma after finding out that a large sum of money has been stolen from the Tojo clan undertakes the task of protecting an orphaned girl who is believed to possess the key to the stolen money.
Yakuza Trilogy Remaster For PS4
In total there are seven Yakuza games that have been released until now. The first two parts were released on the PS2 console whereas the third, fourth and fifth sequels were released on PS3.
The sixth installment in the franchise which goes by the name “Yakuza Zero” was the first game in the series to be released on the PS4 console, it was followed by Yakuza 6.
The original Yakuza game along with the Yakuza 2 has already been remastered for the PS4. However, this time around Yakuza Trilogy Remaster For PS4 is in the works which means that Yakuza 3,4 and 5 will be released as remastered games on the PS4 console.
According to the developers, the remastered games would run on 1080p resolution and a solid 60 fps. The plot and gameplay would remain exactly as the original games, however, there will, no doubt, be significant improvements in graphics and overall performance.
Yakuza Trilogy Remaster For PS4 Release Dates
The Japanese release schedule is as follows:
- Yakuza 3 – August 9
- Yakuza 4 – Fall 2018
- Yakuza 5 – Spring 2019
All of these will be made exclusively available on the PS4, which after the release of Yakuza 5, will have the entire main franchise on the console.
