What is the first word that comes to your mind when you look at the Samsung Galaxy S8? It is probably something along the lines of ‘beautiful’ or ‘gorgeous’. The main reason behind this is the bezel-less display of the device. However, bezel-less is a word we have been far too long for somewhat or almost bezel-less screens. So, if we want a more accurate representation of a truly bezel-less display, it is given to us by the new Xiaomi Mi MIX 2.
All of us know that the original Mi MIX was the harbinger of the era of bezel-less smartphones, so it’s only appropriate that its successor shows us a true bezel-less display, by eliminating the chin that is still found on devices like the Galaxy S8. The French designer, Philippe Starck, has shared a concept video that shows the presence of a barely visible outline of the bezel on the top and sides of the device, with a bottom bezel that is about half as wide as the on the Galaxy S8.
Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 Concept Video:
In most cases, concept videos are considered as mere fanboy expectations, but its different this time. This concept video comes from the actual designer of a product, who has experience working in this product line, making it that much closer to reality. We know that Mi MIX 2 is going to arrive this year, and if it looks like the device in the video, it is going to throw the smartphone design world into a frenzy. Again.
In case you are someone who is curious as us, and is wondering about the placement of the front camera on the device, we suggest you take a closer look at the video and you’ll find it hidden in the bottom right of the bottom bezel (which is the same bizarre spot where the last Mi MIX’s front camera was located.) This design proves to be a favorable one for people who are not fans of the camera ‘indent’ in phones like the Essential Phone or upcoming iPhone. We are yet to discoer where the ear piece is this time (last time was pretty bad!)
Feel free to tell us what you think about the new Mi MIX 2!
