For Xiaomi Mi Max fans, the 25th of May was as important as the Lemonade album release date was for Beyoncé fans. (Ignore our metaphor if you aren’t a part of that fan demographic)
After selling over 3 million units of their original Mi Max, Xiaomi has launched the Xiaomi Mi Max 2, in Beijing, China. Lei Jun, Xiaomi’ CEO, stated that the new device would be equipped with the power-efficient Snapdragon625 chipset, along with a massive 5300 mAh battery, which he claims will provide the users with two full days of usage, with over 18 hours of video playback, or 21 hours of GPS usage.
The Mi Max 2 will come with a display of 6.44” with thin bezels. Even though the processor can be considered a downgrade from the Snapdragon 650/652 in the previous model, but its way more power-efficient.
Mi Max 2 will operate on the Android 7.0 Nougat operating system with MIUI8. The phone comes in two storage capacities, 64GB or 128GB, with a 4GB RAM. Now coming to another important aspect of any smartphone; its camera, this particular device is equipped with a 12 megapixel back camera, and a 5-megapixel front camera.
In addition to the awesome battery life, this phone comes with QuickCharge 3.0, and is claimed to take only one hour to charge 2/3 of the battery capacity. The phone has a USB type-C port which can also turn the phone into a power bank to charge other devices; a feature that could come in handy these days because of all the load-shedding in Pakistan. (Shout-out to WAPDA). Now moving on to privacy, (kyun ke bae ke message kahin ammi na parh lein), it has a fingerprint scanner which is positioned on the back of the phone.
The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 will be available for purchase in China by the 1st of June, and the prices being $247 for the 64GB device and $290 for the 128 GB version.
