Two weeks back, Microsoft started rolling out Windows 8.1 Update 1. The update weighing about 1 GB added some exciting features i.e. bringing Metro apps on desktop. You can read about Windows 8.1 Update 1 features here. If you have not upgraded yet, here is the link to get it manually:
Now, Microsoft has started working on upcoming version of OS. Previously it was rumored that Microsoft would release Windows 9. But seems like, the plan has changed. A report from WZOR reveals that Microsoft will rather release Windows 8.2 update rather than Windows 9. WZOR is considered a reliable source regarding updates related to Windows. The Russian blog has given correct leaks regarding Windows 8.1 Update 1 recently.
Not only this, WZOR has also come up with some details of the update too. As expected, the upcoming Windows version i.e. Windows 8.2 update will bring Start Menu back.
As you can see, the Start Menu will be fully customized for Metro apps, having beautiful tiles. This is not all, as for the first time, Microsoft is working on a Windows Cloud OS prototype which will come in Windows 8.2 update. This will function similar to Chrome OS, requiring Internet access for full functionality. If you are offline, your system will not be able to perform certain functions. To use the Cloud OS, you definitely need to have some subscription.
WZOR also claims that the Windows 8.2 update may be called as ‘Spring Update’. Previously, Windows 8.1 Update 1 was termed ‘Autumn Update’. Or rather than naming it as an ‘update’, Microsoft may simple release Windows 8.2.
Well, at the point, these all are nothing more than rumors. But one thing is for sure, you will soon be getting Start Menu back.
Share your thoughts regarding Windows Cloud prototype. Will you welcome such OS from Microsoft?
