Windows 8.1 Update and Windows Phone 8.1 detailed by Microsoft at MWC

Yesterday Microsoft announced some details about Windows 8.1 Update and Windows Phone 8.1. Despite the hype of Mobile World Conference (MWC 14) Microsoft VP Joe Belifore announced Windows Phone 8.1 will be coming in April 2014 with some major changes and support for other hardware as well as backwards compatibility.  While Windows 8.1 update is focused on Non Touch hardware.Nokia X Family

Windows Phone 8.1:

Talking about Windows Phone 8.1, it will come support for new Snapdragon 200, 400, 400 LTE chipsets and Dual SIMs. He also told that Windows Phone 8.1 will come with support for On-Screen buttons just like Android. So manufacturers don’t have to design phones with capacitive touch buttons. One more change is that now you can store you windows phone apps to microSD card.Snapdragon 610 and 615

Lenovo, ZTE, LG, Karbonn and Lava will be making and launching Windows Phone 8.1 devices. Facebook Messenger will be soon available for Windows Phone 8.1. BBM.

Now talking about Windows 8.1 Update that is coming anytime in spring features new taskbar and new way to open and close metro application. You can pin Windows 8.1 Metro Apps to taskbar and open them on desktop. Windows 8.1 will also support low specifications to run on older and slower devices. It will support 1GB ram and 16Gb to storage to run on any computer. It is also possible that Microsoft will make Windows support android devices.
