So here comes some big news for Pakistani fans! A great one for Warid users! We have been covering a lot regarding Warid 4G LTE launch. The service reached 51MBps download speed in internal tests during June. Later on, the service launch was delayed because of issues with ZONG Telecom. As ZONG took part in PTA 3G/4G Auction, so under a consensus, it was decided that the telecom network will introduce its 4G first. ZONG has recently launched its 4G service officially. Now, it’s time for Warid to lift the covers off its 4G LTE service!
Till now, Warid has not made any official word on its 4G LTE service. None of the top Warid official leaked any sort of information. But today, at GITEX Technology Week 2014, the CEO Muneer Farooqui has finally detailed Warid 4G LTE. As expected, Warid 4G LTE service will be rolled out through Ericsson as network partner. The telecom network is completing relying on the investments form its parent group i.e. Abu Dhabi Group. The Group has allocated a sum of US $500 million for the Warid 4G LTE roll out. Out of this, $100 million has already been invested.
Regarding the deal with Ericsson, CEO Muneer Farooqui made this comment,
Our strong partnership and working relationship with Ericsson has given us complete trust in their technology and execution, making them the preferred partner for this landmark project as well.
Ericsson has promised Warid to provide state of art technologies. Warid aims to provide its customers with speed revolution network having no lags at all.

With introduction of 4G LTE service, Warid will become one of the few network companies of the world to have a direct jump from 2G to 4G. Additionally, Warid is already shipping 4G LTE SIMs to its corporate customers and the customers with 4G enabled handsets. It’s not yet confirmed when the service will launch officially. However, hopefully it will take few weeks only.
There are no words still regarding the 4G LTE packages. Warid 4G LTE will debut in major cities at start. The roll out will be made nationwide gradually.
