Warframe is a free-to-play cooperative third-person shooter video game developed and published by Digital Extremes. The game is currently one of the biggest games out there with a very loyal fanbase. First Off, a general description of the game provided by the developers
With more than 38 million registered players worldwide, the cooperative, free-to-play hit Warframe is a third-person online action game set in an evolving sci-fi world. Warframe gives players the chance to master the Warframe armor as the enigmatic Tenno, a race of ancient warriors wielding blade and gun, who are awakened from centuries of cryo-sleep by the mysterious guide, Lotus, to restore order throughout the Solar System.

Warframe is free-to-play with in-game purchases available.
Cooperative Gameplay
Dynamic 1-4 players cooperative gameplay will be available from day one.
Launch Content
The game will include most of the updates ever since it’s launch and these include
- 23 Major Updates
- 36 Warframes
- Three cinematic quests
- Open World Update
- All of the content up to the Mask of the Revenant update — updates, weapons, Warframes, items, gear.
- The current Prime Access program will provide players with access to Mesa Prime, Mag Prime, and Chroma Prime, and will be in-line with currently running Prime programs on all other systems at launch.
Post Launch Content
There will be constant updates to the game as it follows the games-as-a-service model.
- The open world Fortuna expansion will arrive on Nintendo Switch soon.
- Garuda, the 37th Warframe, will arrive on Nintendo Switch simultaneous with the Fortuna update.
- Warframe on Nintendo Switch will be in content parity with all other consoles in 2019 (exact date TBD).
Controls and Motion Controls
Here are the details about the various control options for the game
- Warframe will support motion controllers from launch.
- Nintendo Switch Pro Controller is also supported
Tenno can use the classic L/R Joy-Con controllers by the following methods
- Attached to the Nintendo Switch console
- Attached to the Nintendo Switch Grip
- Detached Joy-Con controllers
- Pro Controllers
The sensitivity of the controls can be adjusted in the menu.
Motion control functionality is available at launch. All controls – mining, shooting, fishing, etc. – are motion control enabled.
Chat
Warframe makes use of the built-in voice chat and runs independently from the Nintendo Switch Online App.
Cross-Play
Cross-play is currently not supported by Warframe, even though the publishers love the idea of it.
Migrating Accounts
Players are given the opportunity to migrate their accounts from PC to Nintendo Switch. This can be done during a limited time-frame when the game launches and will be done until a final date is announced.
Storage
A 32-64 GB SD Card is recommended given the game model.
Always Online
The game is purely online and thus requires an online connection to be played.
