Summer movies had an early start this year. We bring you to you the top movies that can be watched this summer. Starting from April, “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” premiered in the first week and made good money. And then again, May also brought us good watchable content with the web-slinging, transforming and roaring actions. And there are also some non-superheroes movie you do not know about.
Without further ado, we will now share the top movies of this summer:
The Amazing Spider-Man 2:
Release Date: May 2
Though potentially The Amazing Spider-Man’s sequel was not considered to be a very good one when it was announced. Although, director Marc Webb has shown some good skills and the movie worth watching, even with multiple villains.
The Double:
Release Date: May 9
The black comedy movie allows the versatile actor, Jesse Eisenberg to play two dynamically opposite characters. Simon an awkward, shy, introverted worker. And then James, a smooth, charismatic new employee who slowly begins to take over Simon’s life.
Godzilla:
Release Date: May 16
If you haven’t watched the movie already, and you are still thinking that it is a reboot of the old version directed by Gareth Edwards, then you have mistaken. The movie is not only a reboot but it has shown great potential and skills of the crew and the story itself. And yes, even though Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston part was little, but he did his part well.
This is a serious recommended movie and it has made a place in our top movies list.
Million Dollar Arm:
Release Date: May 16
Of all the sports-related movies coming to theaters, the one with Made Men star Jon Hamm is the best amongst them. His character portrays a role of a once successful sports agent who searches for the next big baseball pitcher is worth a watch.
X-Men: Days of Future Past:
Release Date: May 23
Now this baby is sweet. The movie has already shown its potential. All the cast, Jennifer Lawrence, Hugh Jackman, Sirs Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart have shown their best with the emotional moments of the movie.
This superhero movie makes out top movies list easily.
Transformers: Age of Extinction:
Release Date: June 27
Yes this is going to be an action packed ride of the year. It is Michael Bay we are talking about. But then again, this will be probably one of the biggest films of the summer.
Also with the introduction of the dinobots – robots that transform into dinosaurs –the movie is quite exciting.
A Most Wanted Man:
Release Date: July 25
This is one of Philip Seymour Hoffman’s final films, is based on the novel of John le Carré. Hoffman plays a German intelligence agent who is suspicious of a man who claims an inheritance to a fortune but who may also be a terrorist.
Guardians of the Galaxy:
Release Date: August 1
There has not been a poor Marvel adaptation from Disney yet. Sure we are a bit hesitant, only because the Guardians are not that popular like Tony Stark and Thor. However the recent box-office success in “The LEGO Movie” has helped the film’s lead Chris Pratt a household name.
It may not be a successful movie, but it has still got our attention and achieved a place in our top movies list.
Lucy:
Release Date: August 8
Lucy, the movie features the well-known actress and diva, Scarlett Johansson. She plays a woman who gets transformed into an enhanced superhuman after a drug deal gone wrong. Johansson’s on a hot streak after both “Captain America 2” and “Her”.
Scarlett Johansson is also expected to feature in a solo “Black Widow” movie. Lucy comes from the writer of both “Taken” films and directed “The Fifth Element” and “Léon:The Professional”, Luc Besson.
Release Date: August 15
There is no why and no buts for this movie. Why? Because nearly every action star ranging from Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger to Jason Statham and Jet Li will star in the sequel. Though Chuck Norris won’t return for a second film, but Mel Gibson will play the villain.
This is one of those movies which you just have to watch. And clearly made a decent place on our top movies list.
These are the movies for now, however honorable mention are How to Train Your Dragon 2, Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, The Giver, Earth to Echo, Tammy and Jersey Boys.
