Tom Clancy’s The Division is an online multiplayer third-person shooter open world role playing game developed by Ubisoft Massive. Its only for eighth/next-gen Consoles and PC i.e. Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
The Division is a game which is actually inspired by real world events called “Operation Dark Winter” and “Directive 51”. Operation Dark Winter is a simulation of a large scale bio-terrorist attack conducted from June 22-23, 2001. This simulation was created to strengthen the strategic ability of the country during this type of crisis. Whereas Directive 51 also known as the National Security and Homeland Security Presidential Directive is a directive signed by former United States President George W. Bush on May 4, 2007 which gave way to such procedures that would ensure continuity of the government in case of a catastrophic event.
In the game you are a member of a classified unit of tactical agents called “The Division” which is activated when the city of New York falls into chaos in five days due to a catastrophic pandemic. Their mission is to prevent the fall off society.
The game runs on the “Snowdrop Engine”, it pays great attention to the dynamic global illumination which makes the day and night cycle look more realistic than ever. Due to the detailed procedural destruction the level of immersion in this game is unbelievable. The advanced particle system in this engine makes particles react dynamically to even the slightest disturbance even light. The atmosphere of the game reacts to the constant change in the weather.
