While there is no official word on the release date calendar, Sony Pictures is in fact making a Venom movie. The movie is highly likely to be set in The Amazing Spider-Man world. The Venom Movie project was announced at the same time as Drew Goddard’s in-development Sinister Six film. While we don’t know much about it outside the fact that it is being written and directed by Alex Kurtzman, it is undeniably being made.
It will probably be a while before we actually hear something firm about it, so at this point everyone is latching on to anything they can find. Yes and everyone includes us as well. Take, for example, Kurtzman’s recent comments about what can be expected from bith portrayal of the titular anti-hero character and the tone of the feature.
Speaking with an MTV official at an event of his upcoming CBS show Scorpion, Kurtzman dug info what we can expect from a Venom movie in a very vague way. He even provided some insight to some of the impulse behind the film.
“Venom, in a weird way, is the representation of every line that will get crossed. He’s a much darker character. Wouldn’t even say more complicated because they’re both very complicated characters. But I think the attraction for me to Venom was the idea that you can do things that you can’t do with Spider-Man.”
Anyone familiar with the character of Venom will agree with the statement above. Born from an alien symbiote that latches on to a host body and brings out the most obscure qualities of a person. Venom is undoubtedly scary, dangerous character in Spider-Man comics. Qualities of the symbiote also include the knowing of all the wall-crawler’s dirty little secret, including the fact that yes he is Peter Parker under the mask.
Can’t say anything about the Venom movie, but he occasionally he is also known to fight for good, especially when his psychotic spawn Carnage is involved.
Rumors also suggest that Carnage will be a part of the Venom movie.
Venom movie doesn’t actually have a release date but we will surely keep you posted and updated.
