The Sinking City is an action-adventure mystery horror video game developed by Frogwares and published by Bigben Interactive, inspired by the works of horror author H.P. Lovecraft. The Sinking City Increase Frame Rate Limit will alleviate any FPS locks you may encounter.
The game is currently available through Epic Games Store and will be available on Steam next year. You can get the game for both Windows and Linux.
The Sinking City Increase Frame Rate Limit
Frame rate caps can really disrupt the experience for players that have higher refresh rate monitors and are using more than capable systems to play the game at both higher refresh rate and resolution.
You can add a cap if you wish, or completely remove it and have unlimited FPS.
To do this, follow the steps mentioned below for both Windows and Linux
For Windows
- Head to the following location
C:Users(Username)AppDataLocalTSCGameSavedConfigWindowsNoEditor
- Open GameUserSettings.ini in a text editor.
- Locate FrameRateLimit=0.000000 and either set a fixed value to limit your FPS to your liking or set it to 0 to attain unlimited frames.
For Linux
- Head to the following location
~//.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/750130/pfx/
- Open GameUserSettings.ini in a text editor.
- Locate FrameRateLimit=0.000000 and either set a fixed value to limit your FPS to your liking or set it to 0 to attain unlimited frames.
That’s all you need to do, to either lock or unlock your framerate.
We recommend using this feature to locking your framerate, instead of Vsync, as that can cause input lag in games. You should also keep in mind that if your monitor is 60 Hz if you’re getting any FPS above that, you’re wasting system resources, as your monitor will only give you a 60 FPS output.
The Sinking City on Steam and Epic
You can purchase the game on Epic Games Store here, and if you want to wait for the Steam version, you can add it to your wishlist as well.
While you’re here, make sure you read the system requirements for the game as well.
