The Last of Us Part 2 is easily one of Sony’s highly anticipated titles. It has only made a few choice appearances throughout the years since its reveal but whatever has been shown has always been a beautiful display. We saw it earlier this year at E3 but Sony did announce that they would not be attending E3 2019 and as such it could mean that we might see the game at other shows or Sony’s own PlayStation Experience which takes place towards the end of the year.
The Last of Us Part 2 missing the last major event of the year – Let’s hope!
While The Last of Us part 2 is definitely a game that a lot of people are eagerly waiting for, we only have a few trailers for us to enjoy until the full game releases. Naughty Dog, the developers of the game just tweeted that the game will be absent from The Game Awards set to take place later this week.
We’re looking forward to celebrating a year of incredible games at #TheGameAwards this Thursday, however, we won’t have anything new to share from The Last of Us Part II. We’re hard at work and looking forward to revealing more when the time is right! pic.twitter.com/6iP1AA8ncT

Seeing how this was the last major event for 2018, it will be a shame that we will not see any more of the game until mid or late 2019. This has lead discussions on people speculating that the game will have a 2020 release date or might be pushed to the PS5 if Sony is choosing which shows to appear at.
We can only hope that the rumors of the game getting delayed to the PS5 or pushed to 2020 are just rumors, but we will have to wait for Sony or Naughty Dog to give some official details on the game.
With this latest development, we still hope to see Death Stranding and plenty of other games at The Game Awards. What games are you hoping to catch at the show? Let us know in the comments section below.
