Telenor has started to provide 4G in 6 major cities of Pakistan with free trials for an unspecified time. Telenor got the licence to operate 4G in Pakistan a few weeks back.
The 6 cities to get the Telenor 4G first are Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Multan, Peshawar and Swat. However, 4G is available in selected areas of these cities. There are currently no charges to use 4G as Telenor is conducting free trials for now. The company has not said any words regarding the time period of free trials. Neither they released any coverage maps for these cities. For now, we only know that Telenor 4G is available in some areas of these 6 cities. We hope that Telenor will soon release a coverage maps of those areas.
To enjoy the 4G, you must replace your sim from any Telenor service center or franchise near you. Sim replacement is free of charge. You must also have an 850MHz compatible 4G smartphone.
Telenor is the 4th cellular network in Pakistan to get 4G. Now after Warid and Mobilink merger, Ufone is the only network left in Pakistan to not have 4G.
If you happen to use the Telenor 4G service anywhere in Pakistan, post your speed test screenshots in the comments along with your area name.
