According to a report, Microsoft is planning to bring Start Menu back in Windows 8.2. Original Start Menu was last seen on Windows 7 then Microsoft adopted a Start Screen with live tiles instead of Start Menu. Start Screen in Windows 8 was not loved by all as it takes time to get used to new things. So, Start Menu proved to be one of the most loved features on Windows. Therefore, we can see the return of Start Menu in next Windows update i.e. Windows 8.2.
Windows 8.1 that was released 2 months ago brought back the Start Button which brings Start Screen in front of you, a proper Start Menu is still missing. Start Menu is said to bring back only on desktop version of Windows. There will be still no Start Menu for Windows RT. According to another report, Microsoft is planning to merge Windows RT with Windows Phone OS as Windows RT is not that successful. So Microsoft will merge these two operating systems so there will be same operating system running on both phones and tablets. Windows 8.2 will also enable users to run Metro apps on their desktop. Windows 8.2 is said to release in early 2015 but Microsoft is yet to confirm these reports.
