Square Enix, the company behind many famous games including, Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, and Kingdom Hearts, has trademarked for a possible new game or a series dubbed as “Last Idea”. Along with this trademark, a twitter account named for the same game has also been found but we do not know as of now who is using the account right now.
Square Enix Trademarks Last Idea
The news appeared on Resetera leaving the users in a surprise what this could be. It can be, as it sounds, like a new series after Hironobu Sakaguchi’s Final Fantasy, Last Story, Lost Odyssey etc. Some people also suggested that the name may be a satire name on SE last game which is most unlikely. There was also a twitter account found by this name. It was not confirmed that if Square Enix controlled the account until the trademark reveal. Confirming that SE behind the account.
What’s the catch here some of you may be wondering. Hironobu Sakaguchi is the creator behind the world famous Final Fantasy series but has left Square Enix. I think it is safe to assume that he is back to Square Enix as he been in contact a lot in the recent years since he started meeting with Tabata during FFXV’s development. He also did live streams with him as well. He also made an appearance on-stage for FFXV’s Uncovered event and his own mobile game series Terra Battle/Wars had its own crossover event in FFXV last month.
Last but not least he also had a joint interview with Kitase and Uematsu talking about FFVII’s development. You can watch the interview from here.
