The Smartphone camera has come a long way in the past decade or so, there was a time when a 2 MP camera on Sony or Nokia phone was deemed revolutionary. Little did we know that there will come a time when smartphones will feature multiple cameras. As we cross mid-2018, dual cameras on smartphones have become all the rage, with all major OEMs opting for a dual camera setup with some even going for a tri-cam configuration such as the Huawei P20 Pro. The upcoming Galaxy S10+ is also rumored to feature up to three cameras on the back and two on the front. In a recent news, it seems that Sony has decided to join the dual camera craze as well, their upcoming phone, Sony Xperia XZ3, is rumored to have dual cameras on the back as well as the front.
Our friends over at xdadevelopers have revealed a number of photos that suggest that the Sony Xperia XZ3 will feature a dual camera setup on front and back making it 4 cameras in total. The picture shows 2 separate dual camera modules.
Last month a number of alleged Sony Xperia XZ3 back body images were leaked which clearly showed dual cameras on the back of the phone. The cameras are positioned vertically, one above the other, preceded by the flashlight and followed by the fingerprint scanner.
If these pictures are indeed that of the Sony Xperia XZ3 then we have a very definitive news here that the phone is going to feature dual camera setup as shown. Sony hasn’t been doing all that well when it comes to their smartphone sales, perhaps this new feature will kick start things for them, who knows.
We will keep you posted as new information becomes available regarding the phone. The Sony phone is expected to launch in two months, most probably at IFA 2018.
