Microsoft’s Mobile Operating System Windows Phone in now growing continuously. Especially when Microsoft released Windows Phone 8 in partnership with Nokia, Windows Phone started to gain market share. Now the popular developers are considering Windows Phone as well along with Android and iOS while releasing their apps and games.
Some other companies besides Nokia are also showing interest to make devices for Windows Phone OS like Huawei. And now a big beast in making smartphones. Sony initially planned to make a Windows Phone. Sony has now also talked to Microsoft and confirmed that customers will see a Sony Windows Phone in mid of 2014. Sony Windows Phone devices will be released under VAIO brand. Sony also makes Windows laptops under this brand name. So this brand name will make difference in Sony Android phone and Sony Windows Phone. As we know, Sony makes Android phones under brand name XPERIA.
Sony will be releasing its own services for their Windows Phone handsets as Music Unlimited and Video Unlimited so that it will remain different than other Windows Phones. This partnership will be beneficial for both Sony and Microsoft. As Sony wants to add a second platform in their smartphones line-up and what can be better than choosing Windows Phone. Microsoft already has partnership with Nokia and its partnership with Sony will help it to gain more market share as people love Sony too. But it will not be easy for a Sony Windows Phone to compete with Nokia‘s one as it has more than 90% of all Windows Phone market share. We hope best for Sony!
