Sony just announced the PlayStation 4 (PS4) in New York in front of more than 2000 people. The event included information about platform architecture, PlayStation Network upgrades and sneak peek at upcoming new games. Sony unveiled details about PS 4 but sadly did not show any images of new PlayStation 4.
Talking about hardware of new PlayStation 4, architecture is more like PC. Featuring a powerful x86-64 processor with 8 cores, 8 GB of Ram, a blue ray drive and as usual USB 3.0 and HDMI ports. This is far better than the previous PS3.
Sony also unveiled new and improved Dual Shock Controller. Luckily we it was only the hardware to see on the event with a lot of enhancements. Motion control got better with sensitive six-axis controller and also analog sticks allow you more control. There is also a led a light bar that is used for identifying the player and also its color changes according to in-game actions.
Sony also added a share button to the new controller which is really nice and beneficial upgrade to the controller. By share button user will be able to share the audio or video to streaming site like Facebook. You can do this in real time also. This whole makes the video recording an ease in new PS4.
There is also a built in 3D camera for the light bar in Dual Shock Controller. Sony also did PS vita integration in new PS4 so users can resume their PlayStation gameplay on PS Vita. iOS Devices and Android devices will be made second controller for the PS4. There will be cloud gaming network support in new PS4.User will be able to download the games easily.
Talking about games, PS4 will not support PS3 titles natively, Knack is the first title for PS4 being developed by Sony’s Japan Studio. It will server other game developers as model, what PlayStation 4 games will look like. As far as previous models are concerned I personally don’t like the PlayStation graphics and always preferred PC for games but now i think this new models is game changer.
Besides this the most important thing, Sony does not have any specific release date but the PS4 will be available in 2013 holiday season with a price tag of 400$.
