Shenmue I & II are legendary titles by Yu Suzuki that came out back in 2000 and 2001 for the Dreamcast are headed to Steam, PS4, and Xbox One. Considering the wait for the massively anticipated Shenmue 3, this seemed like a very natural thing for SEGA to do. Check out Shenmue I & II System Requirements and Release Date here.
Both games are bundled together and will not be sold separately.
Shenmue I & II System Requirements
Given how old these games are, even with modern retouching, the games don’t require very heavy specifications, check out the minimum requirements below
MINIMUM:
-
- OS: Windows 7 64Bit
- Processor: Intel i3-560 / AMD FX-4300
- Memory: 4 GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 Ti (1GB VRAM) / AMD Radeon 6990
- DirectX: Version 11
- Storage: 30 GB available space
So even a 1GB variant of 650ti will be enough for both games, however, 30GB of hard drive space is still quite a bit given how old these games are, but higher resolution textures and prerendered cutscenes usually end up taking a lot of space.
If you’re unfamiliar with this game, the official description on the Steam page highlights everything
“Originally released for the Dreamcast in 2000 and 2001, Shenmue I & II is an open world action-adventure combining jujitsu combat, investigative sleuthing, RPG elements, and memorable mini-games. It pioneered many aspects of modern gaming, including open world city exploration, and was the game that coined the Quick Time Event (QTE). It was one of the first games with a persistent open world, where day cycles to night, weather changes, shops open and close and NPCs go about their business all on their own schedules. Its engrossing epic story and living world created a generation of passionate fans, and the game consistently makes the list of “greatest games of all time”.”
