Shadow of War 4K is a definitive battle between the mighty lords of gaming in the realm of man. We take a look at how each of the main consoles fares in performance at the latest entry in the series.
The PS4 Pro and the Xbox One X will fight the mighty battle of 4K and FPS, but which console will reign supreme? Let’s find out!
Shadow of War 4K PS4 vs Xbox Graphics Comparison:
Shadow of War is a sequel to 2014’s highly acclaimed Shadow of Mordor, a game that takes place before the time of the movies and shows us an entirely unique storyline in the world of Middle Earth.
While there can be a lot said about the game, there is another battle being fought right here. While the battle is being vehemently fought at the frontlines of gaming, there can only be one victor!
To help settle the argument without any fan bias or favoritism taking place, we turn to the just eyes of the gaming world, Digital Foundry. Their latest video talks about the performance of 4K on the 2 top-dog consoles of the big boys in gaming; Sony, and Microsoft.
The comparison takes place on a standard PS4 Pro, which offers 4.8 Teraflops versus the Xbox One X which offers 6 Teraflops. The PS4 Pro offers 8GB of DDR5 RAM clocked in at 218 GB/s, while the Xbox One has 12GB of DDR5 RAM 326 GB/s.
Now that we have the basic specs of each console out of the way, let us get into the video and see which console shall emerge victoriously!
Before watching the video, keep in mind that this is a standard PS4 Pro competing against an outdated build of the Xbox One X, so base the performance of the latter console at its current build.
A new kind of Shadow War has begun
The video shows a truly remarkable comparison between the two console giants, given one of them operating on an outdated build in terms of software, meaning there could have been better performance in one of the more intense fortress siege segments, where the frames do drop at the early 20’s, but never below!
Albeit it has been discovered that the PS4 Pro is unable to deliver real 4K as opposed to the Xbox One X which has touched the Shadow of War 4K resolution is indeed an admirable feat to achieve for an unreleased console!
The Xbox One X offering different rendering modes, different resolutions, and also delivering much sharper and polished textures, level of detail, and other bells and whistles that will get any console gamer drooling at the rich graphical detail leaves one’s imagination simply bewildered at the countless other possibilities of the console.
When it comes down to it, it is clear that the Xbox One X is the clear winner in terms of resolution, graphics, detail, and other various aspects of the mighty Shadow of War 4K battle that just ensued.
One can only wonder what the Xbox One X could be capable of when the final build becomes commercially available to the public, if an early build of the console was able to deliver such staggering results against an already available console, then we can easily say that the 4K wars have only just begun between the 2 mighty giants!
