Samsung Galaxy S8, launched in 2017, was a game changer for the Galaxy S lineup back then. It introduced the new bezel-less design to the world and brought with it a lot of new software features as well. Now, just days prior to the launch of the 10th generation of Galaxy S smartphones, Samsung has reaffirmed its commitment to the S8 by rolling out the first Samsung One UI Pie Update for Galaxy S8 and S8+
Samsung is often lamented for delayed OS updates for its smartphones and no doubt they are a little late to the party but nonetheless, the very first Android Pie update has finally been rolled out for the Samsung Galaxy S8. However, the update is only meant for Germany right now. Other regions are expected to follow suit shortly.
Samsung Still Serious About Its Older Flagships
Right when many thought that Samsung had perhaps abandoned its slightly older flagship devices, Samsung came out with the Android Pie update for its older Galaxy S8 smartphone. Those who have used Samsung One UI, Samsung’s latest UI based on Android Pie, know how feature intensive and fast it is.
It would have been grossly unfair to the Samsung Galaxy S8 if it was neglected from receiving this update and thankfully that is not the case.
Samsung’s upcoming event, Samsung Unpacked 2019, is just around the corner and the company will be launching the 10th iteration of its popular Galaxy S lineup. The Samsung Galaxy S10, 2 years after the S8, is perhaps the most anticipated phone of 2019.

Well, you already know what to do, if you reside in Germany, head over to the update menu on your smartphone and run the search for the latest update. Download the stable Android Pie update. The size of the update should be no more than 1610 MBs.
This update will also bump the Android security patch level of the device to February 1, 2019. Those residing in other regions would be receiving the update shortly so fingers crossed!
