After the release of Samsung Galaxy S5 it was now time to introduce All new Samsung Galaxy Gear 2. “The Samsung Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo are chic” says JK Shin the President and CEO of Samsung Electronics in the start. It is equipped with a screen that fits perfectly on your wrist. Gives notifications about SMS, missed calls, and the like, while also serving as a way to monitor your heart rate while exercising. Stating more Shin said “The three main descriptors Samsung flashed on the screen about the new Gears were “open,” “flexible,” and “cooperative.” The open part is a bit dubious given that they only work with Samsung phones.” That’s particularly sad that the Gears will only work with the Samsung products only.
Customers were having some troubles with the original Galaxy Gear. So the main focus was to remove troubles that were left on the original Gears. Focusing on five key areas, the first being “wear with smart style.” Samsung moved the camera, the speaker, and the microphone to the bezel, taking them away from the strap. That allows Samsung to offer its first interchangeable straps, which in turn lets you customize the watch and express your own style. One more thing that was being noticed was the Home Button that will help you come back to the main screen whenever you touch it. This feature really was fun.
The second focus area is extended ecosystem. Gear 2 is developed as part of our long term use for a connected ecosystem of devices. More over Samsung’s released a SDK for the Tizen based Gear 2 watches. This SDK will help the developers to design apps for the Gears. And the Gears could carry many apps at a time and the build in apps are simply fantastic.
Well now the questions arises how long does the Gear hold up with the phone? Not a day, not two days, it could last up to three days on a full charge that is 3 times longer than the original Gear. The Gear 2 is also dust and water resistant the same IP67 used in Galaxy S5.
Samsung Gear Fit look exception with its curve and sleek design. Whereas world first curved AMOLED touch screen on a wearable. Weighing only 27grams is not hard to wear and carry. The Galaxy Gear 2 is compatible with 20 Samsung Devices. Exercise, Food, Sleep, Weight and Stress. You can monitor all this with Samsung’s LifeStyle Coach App. Part of the S Health Suit. “The CenterPiece” at the back of Galaxy S5 and beneath the Camera is the S Health. It is the first ever heart rate monitor for a smartphone.
Well the release of these Gears are expected on April 11th. And the Price tags are still not confirmed by the officials. That was all from press conference in Barcelona at the MWC 2014. What do you think of this Samsung’s Galaxy Gear 2? Leave your comments and stay tuned.
