Samsung for the first time have introduced the world’s first 8 GB LPDDR4 RAM for mobiles. In an era where the demand of faster memory keeps on increasing some of the company focus and try to provide world with new technology which results in a great success.
Samsung therefore announced on Thursday (30/12/2013) their first ever 8 GB low powered double data rate 4 (DDR4), mobile DDR4, which is one of its kind and is used by making 20nm process. This means that this mobile RAM can take up to 1GB of RAM in a single die. Samsung says this will provide high end performance that is 50% much faster than the fastest LPDDR3 RAM, and for the sake of energy point of view it consume 40% less energy overall.
The 20nm class process technology and the Low Voltage Swing Terminated Logic (LVSTL) I/O interface and provide a data transfer rate of about 3200 Mbs. This chip is expected to be embedded in mobiles like Samsung Galaxy S5 and Samsung upcoming tablets which includes ultra HD Display.
As one of the fastest and popular companies around the globe Samsung is trying to produce the next generation hardware and stay one step ahead of other says the Samsung executive vice president Young Hyun Jun, stating ahead more he said “ This LPDDR4 will contribute significantly faster growth in mobile DRAM market”.
