Metal Gear Solid is a franchise that needs no introduction, it is what made Kojima arguably one of the most brilliant directors in video game history and gave birth to a number of iconic characters, moments and revolutionized cinematic gaming as we know it. Kojima has left Konami, which is the publisher and owner of the Metal Gear Solid IP, and while Konami did release a spin-off title without Kojima last year, it seems there might be a new Metal Gear Solid Game on the horizon.
New Metal Gear Solid Game
David Hayter, the voice actor of Solid and Liquid Snake in all Metal Gear Solid games other than The Phantom Pain, responded to a tweet by fellow Voice Actor Robin Atkin Downes, who has voiced Kazuhira Miller when he tweeted that he has a serious mission for Snake, check out their tweets below

Hayter responded with a “kaz, message received” and a gif of Michael Corleone’s iconic “every time I think I’m out, they pull me back in” line from The Godfather Part III.
Downes further replied to The Game Awards as well, when they asked what announcements everyone is waiting for by saying the following
@thegameawards Perhaps some of my tweet mates can answer this question for me… https://t.co/GIn0EPobe4

It doesn’t end here at all, Downes’s even tweeted this out, explaining how missions can take some time

And last but not least, there’s this tweet by Kris Zimmerman who was the casting director for Metal Gear Solid.

This is a lot to take in, what could this mean? is Konami planning to release another Metal Gear Solid Game? Are they remaking some old entry? Is this some spin-off title that we don’t know about?
There are so many possibilities here, and we’re excited to see where this goes. Metal Gear will never be the same without Kojima, that is for sure, but that doesn’t mean the universe can’t be expanded or remade in a way that doesn’t insult its legacy.
