It seems that some new concept art was demonstrated at ZBrushMerge 2019, which was created by Ryo Fujimaki, the lead character designer for Bloodborne. Could this demo be a look at the next From Software game? Keep in mind this could just be for educational purposes, but these concept art do look very convincing.
Pirates and Wyverns – The Next From Software Game?
The source of the images comes from Ryo showing off ZBrush for educational purposes, specifically on how to create creatures, detail them, and more. However, one can’t help but wonder if these are from a scrapped project or something from their upcoming game? This was spotted by Ralphie624 on Reddit.
You can see the full video that shows the above illustrations created.
The current console generation has been a busy time for From Software. Starting Dark Souls 2: Scholars of the First Sin and Bloodborne in 2015. Dark Souls 3 in 2016, and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice in 2019.
We do know that From Software is working on 2 other games alongside Sekiro, what we don’t know however if these are continuations of an existing IP like Bloodborne or Dark Souls or are they new IP’s?
From Software is revered for their ability to reinvent the ARPG genre by making it challenging and demand skill. However, this isn’t always a good thing as reviewers commonly compare every hard game to the Dark Souls IP. With 2017’s Cuphead being the most recent example.
Keep in mind that this is all speculative and of course we can only wait till E3 to find out what the company is up to. Whether or not the company will make an appearance at this years E3 or wait out for a Japanese based gaming conference to occur is still a mystery.
We highly recommend taking all of this with heavy amounts of salt and keep an open mind. From Software will reveal their next game in due time, and we have no doubt it will be amazing.
Considering this is the year Sony has taken away from E3, this is a good opportunity for From Software to announce working with another company, like Microsoft.
