PlayerUnknowns BattleGrounds is a game that can be attributed to really making the Battle Royale game mode a popular trend in the world of gaming. Albeit Fortnite stole its spotlight and other games tried to follow, but failed. The game was announced for the PS4 almost a month ago, and this means that the game is now available on all the major platforms. The FAQ section on the official site has added a PS4 section which tells us PUBG PS4 Download Size, FPS and Other Details.
PUBG PS4 Download Size – Small Size, But Will It Run?
According to the official FAQ Page on PUBG’s website, the game will be a measly 25GB in size. While Fortnite hovers at the 12GB range, this is a game that has significantly better graphics and more variety in maps. There are plans for more maps and more game modes to come in future updates.
The page also confirmed the following details for the PS4 version.
- Game will be capped at 30FPS
- HDR will be available on day 1
- PS4 Pro will be optimized for performance and better graphics like the Xbox One X
- The game won’t have 4K resolution
- No cross-play between PS4, Xbox One, PC, etc but the developers do express interest on bringing it as an option
- No Mouse/Keyboard support
- All of the maps and content updates will be readily available on the PS4 and will have parity with the Xbox and PC versions.
- You will need PS+ to play the game
Victory Royale vs. Chicken Dinner – Who Will Win?
You can see that Bluehole has indeed put a lot of effort into PUBG for the PS4 but considering Fortnite is dominant on the PS4 due to not requiring PS+ for online play as opposed to PUBG requiring PS+ for online play, it will have a hard time keeping up with Fortnite on the PS4.
Just for context, You need Xbox Live Gold on the Xbox One to play free-to-play titles like Fortnite, so it would only be logical for an Xbox gamer to also buy and play PUBG.
The Price of Victory
The game is available at a base price of $29.99 and in other variants with other pre-order bonuses available for players. It will launch on December 7th and we have yet to see any preview, review for how the game looks or runs on the PS4.
