The PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One may not have reached their prime time. As compared to their predecessors who have reigned over the market for so much time. Even now there are many people who are satisfied with the older versions of the consoles. But what is this we hear? Is the new PlayStation 5 and Xbox Two already in the making?
The successors (or even themselves) of either consoles may take years to manifest and hold some ground in the market. But the companies have already started working on them. Though the names or not confirmed as yet, but they are rumored to be as the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Two.
Now that you know that, it shouldn’t be a surprise to hear that Devinder Kumar, CFO at chip maker AMD, has alreaday indicated to the fact that the next-gen consoles may already be in the making. Given how AMD’s processing tech partially powers the PS4, Xbox One and even Nintendo’s Wii U, we must consider Kumar a source genuinely in the know.
Kumar disclosed this at the Bank of America Merrill Lynch Global Technology Conference on Thursday. He noted,
“The life cycle of the [console] are probably going to be shorter, already thinking about comes next”
The current console battle is on full swing. Both companies are already doing their best to do what it takes to be at the top. Sony has taken advantage of some poor pre-release PR form Microsoft. This established a good lead for them, but not entirely unreachable.
Since Microsoft has launched the Xbox One, they have ditched the Kinect to match the pricing of PS4. This is a clear advantage for those who do not care about motion-sense tech.
