The addition of the X-4 Bomber in v7.00 has been the best thing to the game in a while. Especially if you play squads. The entire purpose of the plane is for 1 member of the squad to fly and shoot while your teammates just get on the wings and support your efforts by T-Posing. When your plane has incurred enough damage you can just ram it into a structure or into the ground and walk away without a scratch. A Future Fortnite Update looks to change that with making crash damage make players lose health.
Fasten your seat belt and please don’t emote while in the plane.
It seems that fans are growing tired of Kamikaze planes in the game where you can crash the plane into all matter of objects and not face any damage in return. Eric Williamson, Design Lead on Fortnite is now aware of the issue and has stated that plane passengers will take damage when the plane crashes.
Yes, we’ve discussed a small amount of damage to passengers when a plane is destroyed. Still determining what amount feels fair

More to come in a Future Fortnite Update!
What number warrants the small amount of damage is up to Eric and their team to decide. A popular thread on the Fortnite Subreddit did say that players should face 50 damage for crashing the plane and this was the most popular comment. 50 Damage is quite a lot, but many people do agree that it is a fair number considering the difference between land vehicles and the air vehicles.
We can hope to see more on this on the Fortnite update that will drop later this week, so let’s hope and wait to see the damage done.
