Yesterday, NHK announced that the children favorite CG animated, Pingu in the City season 2 will start airing from 6th of October, after 4 days.

The new episodes will be aired on NHK-E both 9:20 a.m. in the mornings and evenings at 5:25 p.m. JST. Season 1 was met with much praise and it stands with a solid 8.55 ratings on MAL (myanimelist.net) making it the 82nd best anime of all time. It’s interesting to notice that this is like a show for kids and people of every age enjoys it nonetheless. Here’s the overview of season 1 according to anime news network.
“Pingu and his family move from their small village to the big city; in which there are many people with many different occupations. The ever-curious Pingu tries to join them at their jobs, but his mischievous side gets the better of him and he ends up messing things up.”
All Pingu has to say is just noot-noot to crack people up. The show became very famous among the anime community as it started airing on October 7th, 2017 to March 31st, 2018. The amount of success this show had would not surprise me that its 2nd season will be announced later in 2018.

Naomi Iwata will be the director of the show. Kimiko Ueno will be in charge of writing the script of the show along with Shigenori Tanabe. The show will be animated by Polygon Pictures.
