After the official launch of Nokia X Family, Nokia is trying to put effort to support Android development for its new range of smartphone. Well their development tools will be ready soon. But coming to the main point that is the Imaging Software Development Kit (SDK) which will now support Windows 8.1. The key they introduced this is because it has got some enhanced tools and services available for Windows Phone development.
Since after the manufacturing of Lumia family they include certain Windows 8.1 tablets and phablets. Developers need some platform to work upon and now that is given by Windows. Developers can now create amazing and magical imaging and can have better experience with the help of SDK for Windows 8.1.
Single Codebase: If you are use the Imaging SDK for Windows phones, you will feel comfortable when working on a windows platform. In single codebase the API surface is shared between the Windows Phone and Windows.
Processor Neutral: Some software are strictly processor dependent but Microsoft made it sure that this SDK is not a processor dependent. It will defiantly work on x86 and ARM architecture.
Above were the two main features that were kept in mind in order to boast the support of the Imaging SDK. Imaging SDK version 1.1 was introduced earlier today that cover wide feature and with it introduced the new filters in it. Taking advantage of which a developer can deploy a Windows app and experience its running across any Windows 8 devices.
When mentioned about the new filters let’s see what they are actually:
HDR Effect: an effect that you watch in your smartphones can now be applied to image after it is being captured. This can help in building up a stunning and a vibrant image.
Lens Blur: Also known as Bokeh effect generally used in professional photography.
Interactive Foreground Segmenter: A new filter that picks up a background from an image. It could be often used to swap background for different images.
