On January 16, 2014 an open letter posted by IO Interactive gives us a hint about what is to come in the next Hitman game. According to IO Interactive, they are currently making the next game of Hitman Series. The game will be for both PC and next-gen consoles.
In the next game, 47 will be at top of his career, he will stalk and take down his targets all across the world. But he will not be alone; he will have support from both the ICA and Diana Burnwood.
In this game a wide range of tools and varieties will be available to take out different types of targets in exotic and expensive locations all around the world. The game is being made on the Glacier 2 game engine. IO Interactive says that due to everything good they have learned and experienced from the previous Hitman games, the new game will be made to give the desired Hitman fantasy. They are saying that the level of detail in this game will be nothing like you have ever seen in the previous Hitman games. The game will have huge sandbox levels free of checkpoint. IO Interactive’s aim is to make a game in which the player will get the feeling that the environment around agent 47 is a living breathing world. Contracts mode is back as well.

One of the possible names for the next edition of Hitman game series might be Hitman: Profession. The game was originally supposed to be developed by Square Enix Montreal. But now they will focus on making smartphone and tablet versions of games including Hitman.
