Mortal Kombat 11 on Nintendo Switch Targetting 60 FPS
Gameinformer’s recent coverage of Mortal Kombat 11 revealed during an interview with the creator and director of the Mortal Kombat franchise himself, Ed Boon, that the upcoming title will be targetting 60 FPS.
Not only did Boon mention the 60 FPS, but he also mentioned that the game is “looking great”, when asked about its visuals, compared to the other platforms. So don’t expect blurring effects or other techniques used to port high-quality titles for the Nintendo Switch.
People that did manage to play the game on the Nintendo Switch at PAX, weren’t allowed to share recordings. They did, however, mention that the game ran at 60 FPS, and was extremely smooth.
Mortal Kombat games require the framerate and especially frame pacing to be very smooth, and the Nintendo Switch is evidently capable of providing that experience. We’re unsure about all the technical details about the Switch version yet, but we’re hoping for NetherRealm to disclose those soon.
