We have already seen the reveal of the characters confirmed so far for Mortal Kombat 11, but it seems that attendees on the floor were able to get some glimpses and hints of fighters included in the roster but weren’t shown on screen. According to a post on reddit, we now have confirmation of 18 fighters until now and people are that the final roster will be 30 fighters or close.
In a post made by Reddit user dark_aspect, it seems that there are 18 characters confirmed so far. You can have a look at the list below:
You can see that the list of characters is a ring back to a lot of fighters from Mortal Kombat 9. I am hoping that Ed Boon does include Ermac or any of the cyborgs into the roster. We are still far from seeing the complete roster, but the current lineup looks very promising.
Considering the story takes place immediately after the events of Mortal Kombat X and the story prologue hinted that Khronika will bring back fighters from the dead, it would be safe to say that including fighters from Mortal Kombat 9 is the safe bet for Ed to keep the roster fresh but also a surprise.
Keep in mind that these are fighters included in the roster for the game, we still have no idea what wildcards can come in the fighter packs, but we do know from experience that Ed Boon has a good hobby of including horror movie villains in his games.
Mortal Kombat 9 saw Freddy Krueger, Mortal Kombat X saw Jason, Leather Face and the Xenomorph from Alien. So one can only wonder what horror movie villain Ed can sneak in for Mortal Kombat 11.
With that, we are done with the current line of characters unveiled for the game thus far. We will have to wait for further reveals or teases.
The game is available for physical and digital pre-orders. You can get Shao Kahn and access to the Beta on March 28th. It will allow you to test out Kustomization, the new meters system, and parts of the new changes in Mortal Kombat 11.
