Microsoft invests $15 million in Foursquare to improve its Bing and Windows

Following the Hot story of Satya Nadella the third CEO of Microsoft and Bill Gates return, here is another great news. The company is now in partnership with Foursquare. Foursquare is a small social site having 45 million monthly users. But when it comes to Location based data, Foursquare is among the top!

Going in to the details of the deal, Microsoft is going to use Foursquare’s location data in Windows Phone and Bing Search results to make the information more competitive. Don’t forget that Google, the tech rival of Microsoft, has massive location based data. So the deal is definitely going to help Microsoft in this case. Microsoft is also already in partnership with Nokia’s HERE mapping service.

How the deal will benefit Microsoft? Well, Foursquare is at the moment just at initial stage. The deal will definitely promote the service. And more users will be attracted to Foursquare.

Moreover, Microsoft will also be going to use the data in its Cortana. Cortana is the upcoming SIRI rival. The service is expected to come in April with Windows 8.1 launch.

So how you guys consider this move? From my side, a real great step! It seems that Microsoft wants to give the BEST to its users, competing Google and Apple simultaneously.
