There is so much that happened today on the Microsoft Build Conference 2015 but there is this one thing that will make you want to use Windows 10 more and that is the Microsoft Edge. Microsoft first revealed its plan for a new browser in early 2015, January to be precise. The project/browser was initially known as Project Spartan. Microsoft revealed it today that instead of Spartan they will go for Microsoft Edge. Kinda cool.
The browser will be set to release in Windows 10. The Microsoft Edge naming didn’t came as a huge surprise as it’s the same name given to the new rendering engine named as EdgeHTML. This new rendering engine that makes Microsoft Edge superfast.
While Microsoft Edge is the heir to Internet Explorer, Microsoft plans to age the browser around for enterprise customers. The browser is designed to be simple and minimalist for the future. This is a good thing as some browsers take way too much space in the RAM.
Early previews of the Microsoft Edge (which was then known as Spartan) include new features like digital ink annotation, Cortana (the voice assistant) integration, and a built-in reading list. Joe Belfiore is the Corporate Vice President, Operating Systems Group said at Microsoft Build Conference
“You’re going to care about the blasting fast technology that’s inside”
Microsoft Edge is going to be the default browser in Windows 10. Predictably one that most consumers will use to browse the web in Microsoft’s next operating system.
