Windows Phone is the 2nd most popular OS in India. A large number of users are switching to it. This has even left the Apple iOS behind. The local companies of India are now busy in preparation of Windows Phones for their consumers. Micromax, Celkon and Xolo are few of them. Micromax dominates the Indian market to a great extent. It’s the 2nd largest smartphone company in India. The company is famous for bringing high-tech mid-ranged Android phones. Now, for the first time, it has introduced two Windows Phone devices i.e. Canvas Win W121 and W092.
Both the devices are unveiled in a press-conference at New Delhi. Both models of handsets i.e. Canvas Win W121 and Canvas Win W092 comes win Dual SIM support. The Canvas Win W121 comes with 5-inch HD display, 1 GB RAM, 8 MP rear and 2 MP front camera. It also has got 8 GB built-storage along with support for SD cards (extendable to 32 GB). The handset is powered by 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor. It will cost 9,500 INR ($160) in Indian market.
The 2nd one is a lighter budgeted phone. The Canvas Win W092 has got 4-inch WVGA display, 1 GB RAM, 5 MP rear and 0.3 MP front camera. The handset has got same storage capacity as of W121. Also, the handset is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor. The handset will cost 6,500 INR ($110).
As you can see, both the handsets has got great specs at cheap price. Let’s see what response they get from the Indian market. Both the handsets will reach the market in July. One thing is for sure, they surely have come with cheapest Windows Phone ever, leaving Nokia behind.
As per Microsoft perspective, it’s sounds really better. This will encourage the famous global OEMs like Samsung and LG to come with some real high-end Windows Phones. Let’s see when it will happen.
