Lords of The Fallen 2 was one of the earlier games to copy the Dark Souls formula of video games by introducing a realistic combat system, dungeon crawling and other aspects synonymous with the Souls genre. The original game released in 2014 and while it tried to copy the formula of Dark Souls, the game was met with criticism for being easier. A new survey from the parent company CI Games helps suggests that the sequel could have some form of online functionality. Would Lords of the Fallen 2 Online be enough to persuade you to try the sequel?
Lords of the Fallen 2 – A development limbo?
The sequel was announced in 2014 and was immediately handed over to Surge developer Deck 13. The studio then remained very hush on the game and we saw nothing for a long time. It was only recently that it was announced a new developer had taken over the project.
As of August 2018, the game is now being handled by Defiant Studios which has the former head of Avalanche studios at the helm. The game is being rebuilt from the ground up in Unreal Engine 4.
Lords of The Fallen 2 Online – Cooperative or Multiplayer? You Choose.
Stemming from the 2014 game, Lords of the Fallen tried its very best to mimic the hype of Dark Souls. In an effort to do so the game offered a singular protagonist and a world with grim castles, snow, and all manner of enemies. The game fell short at the death part however, as Souls veterans didn’t even consider the game a challenge.
CI Games dropped in on the Xbox One sub reddit and dropped a survey for fans to fill out on how they felt about the original game to help contribute towards the development of Lords of the Fallen 2.
At the end of the survey, there is an indication that the game could sport co-op or multiplayer.
You can see that the game is indeed planning on implementing some form of online interaction between players, but whether they meet on friendly or not-so-friendly terms is yet to be determined.
Considering the game is now back in development, we can hope to see more of the game at future shows.
