Jump Force is an upcoming manga-inspired fighting game that is being developed by Spike Chunsoft and will be published by Bandai Namco. The game will feature characters from various manga series that have been featured in Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine over the years. While we don’t know a lot about the final game at the moment, a new leak has emerged that confirms Jotaro Kujo and Dio for Jump Force among 40 other confirmed characters. Both of these characters will indeed make it into the final game.
Jotaro Kujo and Dio for Jump Force Confirmed According to WSJ
According to a thread on the popular gaming site, Resetera, a post by a member claims that Weekly Shōnen Jump(WSJ) magazine has confirmed the arrival of Kujo and Dio to the game. News regarding the addition of the said characters was spotted in a scan of a recent WSJ issue. According to earlier speculations, it was somewhat expected that the devs will take this step and now we finally know for sure.
Moreover, according to the same source, it is believed that the next issue of Jump Force in WSJ might reveal the full list of characters that are going to be featured in the final game.
Jump Force seems like a promising addition to the fighting genre of games and I could not be more excited to get my hands on it once it releases. The premise of the game is said to revolve around the collision between the real world and the Shōnen Jump universes and the resulting aftermath of the event.
In terms of gameplay, Jump Force is a 3-on-3 tag team fighting game and so far around 40 characters have been confirmed from over 16 series.
The game is being developed in Unreal Engine 3 and from the early footage that has been uploaded to Youtube, I have to say the graphics look promising.
